Lenny White with RTF mp3s

This is Lenny playing his sloppy ass off in Return to Forever. I played an RTF cover in a bar band I used to be in (we'd play it when we could stretch a bit) and I tried to infuse a Lenny-ish feel, but it's deceptively hard to play like him because he has got some chops and some funk but mixed in is a Moon like bombast and craziness.

These are from the Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy, the disc with Bill Connors. I was blown away the first time I heard this recording.

do you know the second version of HymnOfTheSeventhGalaxy ?
i prefer the later version, must be 1975 or 1976.
it's on "where do i have known you before" or something like this.
the drum sound is much better on the second version.
